I'm not suggesting that this is bothersome, either-honestly, no one needs any reason to keep putting the Falcon in Star Wars movies other than "it looks cool." It's just funny, and maybe even the longest-running gag in the franchise-a joke started by Luke Skywalker in the Mos Eisley spaceport and carried improbably far by it coming up in movie after movie.

Just know that the Millennium Falcon is in it and seems to be doing just fine. I'm not going to spoil The Last Jedi here. But after five movies and roughly 34 years of in-universe time, people keep getting on this ship, and you have to worry about them a little bit, you know? This is part of the oft-cited charm of Star Wars-it's a universe that feels lived-in, where things that we think are cool on-screen are actually pieces of junk. But it's also a space jalopy, with grimy interiors, maintained by a guy and man-bear who probably sleep on mattresses with no bedframes. How could you not? It's like a flying saucer, but cooler, the centerpiece of Yeezy Season Tatooine. One of the biggest ironies at the heart of Star Wars is also one of its greatest moments: when, in A New Hope, we see the Millennium Falcon for the very first time-the coolest hunk of sci-fi anyone's ever seen-and Luke Skywalker declares it total trash.
